THE CHITOWN HUSTLER STORY
The Chi-Town Hustler is back! In partnership with Larry Coglianese, the Minick family is proud to bring you the latest installment in the storied history of the Chi-Town Hustler.
The Chi-Town Hustler has been wowing fans at dragstrips around the United States since the 1960s. Formed out of a small garage in suburban Chicago by original owners John Farkonas, Austin Coil and Pat Minick, the Hustler rose to legendary status do its long smoky burnouts and an unparalleled winning percentage. The trio left the competition in their wake with Farkonas handling the engineering, Coil the tuning, and Minick as the wheelman.
A slew of expert drivers would go on to enjoy success behind the butterflies after Minick stepped out of the cockpit in 1970, including Clare Sanders, Ron Colson, and Denny Savage. The continual domination of the rest of the funny car world eventually culminate in two NHRA World Championships in 1982 & 1983 with driver Frank Hawley.
Now, thanks to team owners Larry and Mary Coglianese, the Hustler is back with 3rd generation driver Mike Minick behind the wheel!
